Modelled by a cushion:
I need one of those dress form things or something! Here it is on me, blurred and briefly - the bump doesn't really do it justice! I've already stretched three (shop) jumpers, I think that's quite enough:
And here's a close up of the neck ribbing which you can't really see:
I had to fudge this a bit as I couldn't for the life of me pick up the number of stitches the pattern asked me to, after four attempts one side still had more than the other. This was despite careful measuring all the time I was knitting it! So, a few K2togs on the picked up stitches on the first row of ribbing seemed to sort it out, and you really can't tell :o) It's not blocked yet, the shoulders should settle down after it is, I hope.
I'm really pleased with this, it fits well (as far as I can tell in the circumstances) and the deep V is flattering with a vest top underneath.
Yarn: No Idea! I got it in a Texere Big Box Of Balls, it seems acrylicy, but not in a bad way.
Needles: 3.75 for ss (Denise Interchangeables), 3.00mm for ribbing (cheapo Pony circ). I've taken to circs more and more as I find it really helps prevent wrist ache with the weight of knitting being in your lap rather than hanging off the end of a needle.
Once it was all sewn up I cast on immediately for the Wraparound Jacket. This is knit in super chunky yarn on 10mm needles. Just the thing for those awash with hormones ;o)
I usually hate knitting on broom handles, but again the Denises come through and are much more comfy than any straights I've used that are this big:
Yarn: Sirdar Denim Ultra Mega Chunky (wool, cotton & acrylic) in Slate Blue (503). I chose this as it was a) very cheap (at Clark Crafts) compared to the recommended Rowan 'Spray' b) not heavy as a 100% wool would be and c) miracle of miracles, knits to exactly the same tension as the pattern, with no fiddling about.
Now I need to finish this without getting distracted by Boho Baby Knits ;o)

Your aubergine top looks lovely! :) And so does the bump.
Chunky yarn and big needles are cool to break up the tiny needle projects.
chunky yarn and big needles = super quick project. I always use my denise needles these days for anything that needs bigger needles.
I can never pick up stitches in the correct amounts--I like more than the patterns want me to have, I guess. I do what you do, and decrease down on the first row.
Lovely knitting. <3
