Boho Baby and a bit of a break

OK, so I made schoolgirl error with the yarn for the Wraparound Jacket. While the number of balls was the same, the yardage was way out! How daft am I (I blame the hormones). I was about 5 balls short by my calculations (or I could have a sleeveless jacket, ummm, no). So I bought more,. Even if it was a different dyelot I had enough left from the original purchase to knit from two balls at once or something to mitigate any shade differences.

It just arrived and is the same dyelot!. Someone is on my side.

And I did get distracted by the Boho Babies. This is a great book if you have a slightly left field approach to dressing your child (or yourself!).

I have to say my soon to be MIL had a flick through and seemed to think I was mad, however I stand by 'dress your child as you like until they're old enough to protest wildly' as you need the 'embarrasing' photos for when they are teenagers ;o). I'm making the 'Modernist Stripe Sleep Suit' which you can see in Mary Heather's Photostream on Flickr (Mary Heather's blog is here) for our imminent offspring.

Now, I'll be in hospital most of next week as he's to be delivered by C section due to his great size - the scan shows he's big, but they aren't 100% accurate, and I bet he'll come out normal sized and laughing at us all!. This has been a difficult decision to make, but all in all with the advice we've had it seems much safer for the baby (big babies can get horribly stuck and suffer shoulder damage) and much less stressful for me and N than going through an induced delivery which could take a long time, and end in a C section anyway. I'll have to take time to recover, but am sure knitting is allowed (like I'll have time with a munchkin in the house!).
