BIG CONGRATULATIONS
go to Diane and Kate (and thier helpers) for getting the Inside Loop internet magazine off the ground, and to deadline! It looks great and I'm pleased to see a UK based enterprise taking its rightful place online (not that I don't love Knitty and Ravelry as much as the next person, of course!).
'Wish' Criss Cross Scarf:
This is my latest FO (I've been doing little things as respite from sweater knitting) the Criss Cross Scarf from this month's (issue 4) of Let's Knit!.
I modified to pattern to suit the yarn I could not resist in my LYS the other day. I blame the greyness outdoors. I just had to buy this bright stuff even though it's a bit bonkers:

It's Gedifra Soffice shade 4808 (I think it's discontinued in the UK , so there may not be much of it about), mohair/acrylic mix. I did only buy one ball. But don't be impressed, as I also had a pack of 13 balls of some Jaeger Merino - possibly the Aran Chunky - I can't recall, I may have been affected by wool fumes, in my hot little hand, at £2 a ball!.
The original pattern is knit on 6.5mm needles in Rowan Tapestry with a repeat 'criss cross' pattern over eight slipped stitches made by wrapping yarn round the needles, with one stitch at each end to give it shape, three garter stitch rows make the solid blocks between crosses:

I used the same needle size but modified this to six slipped stitches (with three wraps round to make the slipped stitches) as I didn't have a huge meterage of yarn:

It made a short and sweet scarf, long enough to tie once at the neck (or wrap round a Cordyline, whatever you want!). I really like it:

Only as I was knitting it did I realise that this is how my favourite Big Pink Scarf:

I got in a People Tree goody box must have been knitted (but without the cross overs):

(I actually ended up with two of these, so I have some Big Pink wool all unravelled, washed and skeined and waiting for a project)
You live and learn! I really like this technique, it's like you can get something sort of lacy without the trauma of yarn overs ;o). One day I will conquer my lace fear/incompetence, but at the moment it's the reason the Stormwater Shawl languishes unfinished in the knitting basket, poor thing .

Wow! It is bright, but I love it! :)
I have some Gedifra Soffice in another shade, that Ollie got me for Valentine's day. It's lovely stuff. :)
Ooh, great colours for a grey winter. I like the pattern, too--neato.
(Psst. That lace fear? If you can wrap the yarn 'round the needles a bunch of times for dropped stitches, then you can definitely wrap it around the needle just once for a yarnover. =D)

Earlier this week, Matt-Man mentioned that he had a big spike in hits on his blog and it was driven by people searching for “Megan Fox Naked.” This surprised and disappointed me a bit, because on a couple of days earlier he had mentioned “Miley Cyrus Naked” several times in a post hoping to pick up some new visitors. megan fox naked pics

Famed video director, Joseph Kahn is reportedly the mastermind behind the video, which he apparently wrote in just 45 minutes. Truthfully I’m surprised it took that long, writing “Megan Fox naked” only takes about 30 seconds, and that’s really all he needs. megan fox fully naked

“I’m totally aware that I’ve never given anyone a reason to praise me for my acting talents. So to sit here and complain, ‘Why don’t people recognize me as an actress?’ would be outrageous. It’s my responsibility to prove that they should.” - Megan Fox, speaking the truth. megan fox naked video
